Ageing is not always a pretty process. Medical and nursing home dental services are available to make the process as easy as possible. We all know that our bodies change as we get older and that we have different needs. Some may need more medical care than others. Some have taken amazing care of their health throughout their lives and others may have done the same but there are genetics at play too. Some have had access to health care all their lives while others have not been so lucky. The point is that as we age we have different needs but these needs are not always easy to meet. This is why mobile health and mobile dental care are such good ideas, especially when it is made accessible to the very people who need them most.

Mobile health care

We know that there is a mobile dental clinic widely available and there are medical practices dotted all over town. There is no shortage of dentists and doctors in any city or state in the USA. What is in short supply is accessibility. If you are young you can easily hop on a bus, drive a car or even walk to a health-related appointment. You can easily pick up the phone to make the appointment and you have the energy to either fight with your health care plan to pay for it, or you can just hand over your credit card. When you are older, these things are more stressful. Many older people no longer drive and do not have the confidence to drive. Many older people cannot pick up the phone to make the appointment and do not have family nearby who can do this for them. And so again, this is where mobile health care comes into play. Mobile health care changes the lives of so many people and it is a lot more available than you might think.

Mobile health care and nursing homes

It depends where you are of course, which area and which state, but mobile health practices usually work closely with nursing homes and special care facilities. They work with the admin staff of the home, telling them which day they will be coming and ‘setting up shop’ and the admin or nursing staff of the home then get ready to help their residents set up appointments. When the time comes, a nursing home staff member will accompany the resident to their appointment. A mobile health unit is always set up professionally and hygienically and emulates a normal health practice, with all the equipment needed, good lighting, running water, comfortable seating, and everything that is needed. Including, of course, an excellent team of health care professionals or dentists.

If you know somebody who is ageing and does not have easy access to health or dental care, look at the nursing home medical services and the nursing home dental services, most often provided on a mobile basis.
